About
The Judge
Bill L Klapper
29th District Court Judge, Division 10
Wyandotte County, KS
I grew up in Wyandotte County, received my education here, and began my professional career here. I started at a small private law firm before joining the Wyandotte County DA's office as an assistant district attorney under DA Nick Tomasic, where I handled criminal cases of all types. I later served as an assistant city attorney during Hal Walker's tenure, handling municipal court, litigation, and labor negotiations.
I returned to private practice with a mid-size firm, doing plaintiff's trial work, representing local businesses, and handling contract work for our local government. I then opened my own practice, representing the citizens and businesses of Wyandotte County.
I was appointed District Court Judge in 2013 and have been re-elected in 2014, 2018, and 2022. Since taking the bench I have served in this district's juvenile and criminal courts and currently preside in civil court. I also helped develop and implement the first specialty court in Wyandotte County, the Juvenile Drug Court.
With your vote, I would be honored to continue serving the citizens of Wyandotte County to the best of my ability.
